John Smith & Pocahontas P7
Kandice Nuzum
In the US Capitol Rotunda, you will find a massive painting hanging there (near that of Columbus) which shows the baptism of Pocahontas by the Reverend Whitaker. At the time, she adopted the Christian name Rebecca, which she used for the remainder of her life. In 1616, she made a celebrated trip to England where, among other events, she was presented to King James the first and Queen Anne as the Princess Rebecca.
